This bronze sculpture depicts a moose sitting the wet grass from a lake. He bends down into the water keeping his hind legs on high dry ground just in case anything decides to attack or he needs to get out of the lake in a jiffy. His antlers are majestic and his face is cute and kind. This herbivore is a gentle giant and lives in some of the most beautiful landscapes one could possibly imagine. This bronze sculpture was cast using the “Lost Wax Method” and has a multi color patina. It is mounted on a marble base and is handmade. Lost wax casting has been around for thousands of years, yet few people understand how the process actually works. Although mechanization has facilitated the lost wax process of bronze casting, the procedure is basically the same as that used by the Chinese when they first developed the process in the 2nd millennium BC.
