Female Centaur Mythological Creature bronze sculpture statue Hand Made Decor Art
Total Dimensions: Height 14'' x Width 9'' Approximate Weight: 11 LBS Original Reproduction: ReproductionBeautiful pure bronze sculpture. In Greek mythology, the centaurs (from Ancient Greek: - Kéntauroi) are a race of creatures composed of part human and part horse. In early Attic vase-paintings, they are depicted with the torso of a human joined at the waist to the horse`s withers, where the horse`s neck would be. This half-human and half-animal composition has led many writers to treat them as liminal beings, caught between the two natures, embodied in contrasted myths, both as the embodiment of untamed nature, as in their battle with the Lapiths, or conversely as teachers, like Chiron. The centaurs were usually said to have been born of Ixion and Nephele (the cloud made in the image of Hera). Another version, however, makes them children of a certain Centaurus, who mated with the Magnesian mares. This Centaurus was either the son of Ixion and Nephele (instead of the Centaurs) or of Apollo and Stilbe, daughter of the river god Peneus. In the latter version of the story his twin brother was Lapithus, ancestor of the Lapiths, thus making the two warring peoples cousins. Centaurs were said to have inhabited the region of Magnesia and Mount Pelion in Thessaly, Mount Pholoe in Arcadia and the Malean peninsula in southern Laconia. Centaurs continued to figure in literary forms of Roman mythology. This sculpture was created using the lostwax method. It is on a black marble base. It is signed by B.Bernauar.
Welsh Griffin is a great reminder to some of my veried ancestry
Great, heavy bronze.
This sculpture, boy riding the turtle, is 97 percent good. There is a slight scuff/discoloration on the boy’s right shoulder, and upon close examination one can see either glue or discoloration where the boy’s bottom is connected to the turtle. I thought about calling Jan about this, but decided I can live with it. It probably does not, however, bode well for future orders. Thanks.
I recently made my first purchase for a gift. I accidentally made an error when purchasing and once I noticed I contacted Bronzhaus customer service. They were empathetic, professional, efficient and super easy to work with.

I adore my Torso of Summer by Aristide Maillol! (the original is held by the Getty Museum). Although it is a beautiful recreation of just the torso of a beautiful woman, it will always remind me of his collection of the four seasons. Bronzhaus does the most remarkable bronzes of new and antique pieces of art statuary. I have several pieces and love them all. The beautiful nude statue holds a place of honor in my foyer. I am so proud of all of my Bronzhaus pieces! Thank you so much! (And I must say that the prices are outstanding!)
I love fine art. My grandfather was a professional artists, and when I was little he would take me to galleries. I fell in love with bronze statues. They are expensive however. BRONHAUS has made it possible for me to own beautiful bronze statues, that I usually couldn't afford. Ive ordered three statues from them, all simply beautiful and affordable. Thank you BRONHAUS for this opportunity you have given me, PLUS fast secure shipping and peace of mind for when my new statue is on its way!!!!

Very nice, tasteful erotic nude bronze artwork. Very detailed, even down to the fingers. Packed for shipping well. No complaints in the least.
What material are your sculptures made out of?
All of our sculptures are made from100% hot cast bronze, and handmade in the ancient lost wax casting method. We never sell cheap cold cast sculptures or resins!
What is the difference between hot cast and cold cast bronzes?
Hot cast bronze is created by pouring a molten metal mixture into a mold. Before the metal can be poured, our artists must first create the mold on a medium such as clay, rubber, or wood. Each mold allows for a limited number of pours, and therefore a limited amount of sculptures can be created in any given round of production before the mold is destroyed and the artist must create a new mold.
Cold cast is actually made from resins and plastics which are painted over. They are cheaper, lighter, and less durable.
Generally speaking, hot cast bronzes are very time consuming and limited in their production, whereas cold cast resins can be mass produced and are inexpensive to create.
