Chiparus Art Deco Topless Semi Nude Dancer in Gold Skirt Bronze Sculpture Statue
Description
Total Dimensions: Height 11'' x Width 13'' Approximate Weight: 15 LBS Original Reproduction: ReproductionThis beautiful bronze sculpture is known as "The Exotic Dancer", one of the many of Chiparus` famous artworks. Here you see a dancer from the Ballet Russe also known as the Russian Ballet. This agile dancer performs an unforgettable dance, one that Chiparus has decided to capture for life. Here she is shown kneeling on one knee while her other leg is straight out in front of her. She leans back using her one arm to support her as her other arm gracefully falls back around her head. By extending her arm and leg it elongates her body and opens her bodice to give the sculpture more dimensions. She wears a leotard which is skin tight against her upper body and her skirt has slights exposing her thighs. Her gold belt is thick and accentuates her waist as it rests against her red dress. She has gold beads that string across her neck and she wears gold bangles on her wrists. She wears a headpiece that matches her ensemble and is adorned with intricate gold beads. This bronze sculpture portrays the flexibility and agility of the ballet dancer beautifully. This sculpture was cast using the "Lost Wax Method" and has gold and brown patina. This sculpture is handmade and 100% bronze, it is signed D.H. Chiparus.

FAQ's
What material are your sculptures made out of?
All of our sculptures are made from100% hot cast bronze, and handmade in the ancient lost wax casting method. We never sell cheap cold cast sculptures or resins!
What is the difference between hot cast and cold cast bronzes?
Hot cast bronze is created by pouring a molten metal mixture into a mold. Before the metal can be poured, our artists must first create the mold on a medium such as clay, rubber, or wood. Each mold allows for a limited number of pours, and therefore a limited amount of sculptures can be created in any given round of production before the mold is destroyed and the artist must create a new mold.
Cold cast is actually made from resins and plastics which are painted over. They are cheaper, lighter, and less durable.
Generally speaking, hot cast bronzes are very time consuming and limited in their production, whereas cold cast resins can be mass produced and are inexpensive to create.
Do you do custom work?

Can I sell you one of my own pieces?
Unfortunately, we do not buy pieces from the public. To ensure the highest quality, we only sell brand new pieces that we commission ourselves, or buy directly from artists and manufacturers we know and trust.
