Woman Seated in an Armchair by Edgar Degas Bronze Sculpture Statue Figure
Condition: This sculpture is in perfect condition. Bronze Dimensions :Height 7" X Width 8" Weight : 5 LBS Inventory:60XN14465906 SALE* Original or Reproduction: ReproductionDegas made many drawings and pastels of similar figures of women unselfconsciously combing their hair or washing and drying themselves. A charcoal drawing in the Von der Heydt-Museum in Wuppertal, Germany, depicts a woman in an identical position, seated next to a bathtub. The drawing is thought to date from about 1895. Working on a small scale, which prompted visitors to the artist`s studio to compare his figures to dolls, Degas modeled the original sculpture from which this bronze was cast in wax. The cork incorporations in the wax are still visible on the back of the sculpture, which is now in the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. 100% bronze and handmade, this brown patina sculpture was cast using the "Lost Wax Method" and is signed by artist Edgar Degas.
Excellent quality bronze sculpture consistent with pictures and description. Very pleased with this purchase.
This is a nice addition to our library shelves. It sits on some home design books and really stands out. I have already received several compliments.
Excellent, beautifully crafted, totally art at it's highest form. Great price point and shipping from UPS, very secure.
The Elephant is amazing

Love the blue Havana Man. This site has great bronze art. Best collection I have seen in a long time.
Very presentable and lifelike. Demonstrates dolphins at play and coveys the joy therein.
Lovely piece. I may want another Diana with a dog. Perhaps at a discount. What is available? Expert and fast shipping. You guys are great. Thanks, Rick
Hi folks, I am a figure artist living in a very conservative community where the local art venues are reluctant to exhibit the simplest nudes. To see your array of uncensored realism is encouraging. The one piece I have received from you will hopefully be the beginning of my collection.
I ordered Lady Justice for a very special occasion, I was not disappointed. Before I ordered her, I spent a lot of time looking at different sites worldwide, and decided on Bronzhaus. Ordering/Delivery/Cost were seamless.
I live in Ontario Canada, and delivery was prompt and fast(4 days).
She came wrapped so snug and packed, there was no movement at all, even though Custom's inspection made the box look damaged, she wasn't. The detail is perfect, the colouring is beautiful and varied. Some spots on the finish look "rough" but either by design or accident, this does not deter from her beauty, if anything it gives it a historic weathered look, and makes her look more authentic and regal. Overall, very happy and will be appreciated as a gift.
The ballerina goes so well with the Cirque du Soleil trapeze work. I now have three stick figures from Bronzhaus (I have others that are not stick figures). I love art. I love sculpture. I love beauty. I have several other bronzes for which I have paid in excess of $10,000. I have had other artist friends of mine, when they are making a delivery or just coming for a visit and they always notice the bronzes. Not one of them has ever questioned, criticized or denigrated these works. I do avoid, however, the copies that are well-known in their original state. But for now I am very much enjoying the extra "bay leaf" in the artistic meatloaf that these bronzes bring to my home and garden.
Always consistent high quality! Real treasures in a time of plastic junk offered by others.
Beautiful piece! Glad to own it!
This is a marvelous parody of Rodin's The Thinker. It is well made and detailed. Would make a nice bookend or desktop art object.
