The largest and possibly most dangerous of the four "big cats," the tiger is an apex predator with virtually no natural predators, residing at the top of their food chain. These magnificent creatures can reach up to 3.3 meters (11 feet) in total length, weigh up to 660 pounds, and have canines up to 4 inches long. Owning this beautiful statue is far safer than encountering this stunning creature in real life. This large tiger roams the open land, searching for its next meal. In the distance, it spots an unsuspecting victim. He begins to crouch low, his eyes narrowing with intensity. His tail lowers and drags along the ground as his nose sniffs the air, identifying the prey's scent. He goes in for the kill. This sculpture is 100% bronze and handmade, featuring a rich brown patina finish. It was cast using the ancient "Lost Wax Method" and is mounted on a solid marble base, ensuring its durability and elegance. The piece is signed by the artist Antoine-Louis Barye, a testament to its quality and artistic value. Antoine-Louis Barye was born in France on September 24th, 1796, and passed away in 1875. Most of his work focused exclusively on animals, particularly wild ones. Barye was considered an "Animalier," a sculptor whose works predominantly feature animals. He was a very accomplished sculptor and artist, having exhibited some of his works in the Salon, with some pieces residing in the Louvre. His legacy continues to captivate art enthusiasts and collectors worldwide.
