This is brilliant reproduction by the famous French sculpture D.H Chiparus featuring a Russian dancer. His sculptures are remarkable for their bright and outstanding decorative effect. Dancers of the Russian Ballet, French theater, and early motion pictures were among his more notable subjects and were typified by a long, slender, stylized appearance. His work was influenced by an interest in Egypt, after Pharaoh Tutankhamen`s tomb was excavated. This upbeat bronze sculpture rests on a black marble base, signed by artist, and would be a cheerful edition to any room.

This piece is extraordinary! I actually own two of them. They were superbly packed, as they are quite heavy. The base is Stone. I’m pretty sure it’s a combination of black marble and a stunning coral pattern onyx. It’s quite substantial in size. I highly recommend this dealer! Fast delivery within some days to Europe (Germany), UPS has collected the custom fees of about 45$. The quality of the statue ist very good, except a sharp edge on the labia. This shows that it is a copy of the originals. However, since meanwhile anywhere in the world the original is available (there are only some photos where the labia are looking more naturally), I am completely satisfied.
