Bio of Charles Payne: Some of my first sculptures, I created my snail series in honor of my Dad, nicknamed “Snail” for his slow and steady pace. They all represent different journeys in our lives. I first used the Art Nouveau designs on these creatures because I felt they wereoverlooked and underappreciated, much like my Dad. While their shape is simple, their designs show the playful and creative journey on which life leads them. We have all seen the crazy trails left by snails as they travel on their slow journey.
