One of Frederic Remington`s rare bronze sculptures, "The Buffalo Signal" captures a Native American warrior sits triumphantly atop his horse. He holds his head high with defiance and triumph set in his intense eyes. Above his head he holds the hide of a slain buffalo, signaling victory. His gun lay across his lap, as he comfortably sits on his trusted horse. The horse trots with the same pride, raising his hoofs high. 100% bronze and handmade, this two-toned brown patina sculpture was cast using the "Lost Wax Method" and mounted on a marble base and is signed. Frederic Sackrider Remington (October 4, 1861 – December 26, 1909) was an American painter, illustrator, sculptor and writer. Lover of cowboys, Native Americans and the U.S. Cavalry, he specialized in depictions of the old American West, concentrating on the last quarter of the 19th century American West.
