A large eagle swoops down towards earth and prepares to pluck its meal from the ocean. His talons are spread and his legs are extended just waiting to grapple its prey. He is close enough to the ocean that the wave crest almost seems to carry and push him along to his end goal. Eagles are known for their extremely keen eyesight, which enables them to spot potential prey from a very long distance. This keen eyesight is primarily contributed by their extremely large pupils. This carefully detailed sculpture exhibits those eyes with a menacing glare. This is a sculpture that demands attention. 100% bronze and handmade, this brown patina sculpture was cast using the "Lost Wax Method" and is signed by artist Milo.

Received slightly damaged.

This is a beautiful work of art. I did have a problem, however. The sculpture was received upside down because no marking on the box to keep any side up. Three of the wings of the eagle on the left side facing were bent inward and out of alignment with the rest of the wings. I had to straighten them using blocks and a very large c-clamp to move the wings without cracking. I didn't refuse the delivery because it wasn't the carrier's fault that it was received in this condition. The packaging is otherwise great to try to protect the sculpture. Overall, I'm pleased it arrived in one piece and looks great after repair!

What material are your sculptures made out of?

All of our sculptures are made from100% hot cast bronze, and handmade in the ancient lost wax casting method. We never sell cheap cold cast sculptures or resins!

What is the difference between hot cast and cold cast bronzes?

Hot cast bronze is created by pouring a molten metal mixture into a mold.  Before the metal can be poured, our artists must first create the mold on a medium such as clay, rubber, or wood.  Each mold allows for a limited number of pours, and therefore a limited amount of sculptures can be created in any given round of production before the mold is destroyed and the artist must create a new mold.

Cold cast is actually made from resins and plastics which are painted over. They are cheaper, lighter, and less durable.

Generally speaking, hot cast bronzes are very time consuming and limited in their production, whereas cold cast resins can be mass produced and are inexpensive to create.

Do you do custom work?

Can I sell you one of my own pieces?

Unfortunately, we do not buy pieces from the public.  To ensure the highest quality, we only sell brand new pieces that we commission ourselves, or buy directly from artists and manufacturers we know and trust.
