The eagle lands, clinging to high cliffs that are above the clouds, surveying the jutting landscapes below. In its domain, at the ceiling of the heavens, one of the most powerful birds of prey is liberated from perils of the earth. With its extremely keen eyesight the eagle is spotting a potential prey from a very long distance. Within an instance, this magnificent creature can leave its celestial throne to dive 100 mph through the wild blue yonder to gain its meal. The eagle is very symbolic throughout history and numerous cultures. The eagle is held to represent a noble nature from its strength and aristocratic appearance, as well as its association with the ancient kings of Persia, Babylon and the Roman legions, having been the official ensign of those empires. Since then, other empires and nations have also adopted the eagle as their symbol, such as the German third Reich and the empire conquered by Napoleon. The eagle is also associated with the sun. As a Christian symbol, the eagle represents salvation, redemption and resurrection. The eagle has been represented over the centuries in a variety of different ways. The eagle totem, in Native American spiritualism and medicine, is one of the most important animals. It symbolizes the Divine spirit, chief of all the creatures in the air, the primary servant of the sun, powerful in battle and protector of the people from evil. Eagle medicine attributes include clear vision and soaring spirit. The eagle is also associated with success, prosperity and wealth. This is a 100% bronze cast by using the age-old method of lost-wax casting and stained with a brown patina finish. It is mounted, along with its detailed bronze plinth, upon a marble base with the artist Milo signature.
