Cyrus the Great (580-529 BCE) is an iconic figure in the history of mankind. He was the first king to be referred to as "The Great" and belonged to the Achaemenid Dynasty, which had ruled the Persian kingdom of Anshan for several generations. Cyrus was the son of Cambyses the elder, the vessel Persian king of the Median Empire called Anšan, and Mandana, the Median princess, daughter of Astyages. His name "Cyrus" (a transliteration of the Greek Kυρoς) is the Greek version of the Persian Koroush or Khorvash meaning "Like the sun," in which khour means "sun" and vash is a suffix of similarity. This bronze sculpture of Cyrus the Great is a magnificent piece of art, cast using the ancient "Lost Wax Method" and stained with a brown patina finish for preservation. It is 100% handmade and 100% bronze, signed by the artist Tehrani. Display this sculpture proudly as a symbol of strength and power, just like the great king himself.
