In Greek mythology, Nike, the Winged Goddess of Victory, was associated with triumph in both war and contests. The Winged Victory of Samothrace is an elegant piece of work; detailed, true to the original sitting in the Louvre, Paris. It is substantial in both weight and size, and the quality of workmanship and finishing is stunning. I bought this work a a present for my beloved brother and his wife, who are celebrating their 40 wedding anniversary this coming May; after having seen this piece, I have no doubt whatever that they will be left speechless, and breathless. In fact, I like it so well that I think I shall buy another for myself; I just simply can't bring myself to ship it off! Thank you so much Bronzehaus, your efforts most certainly do justice to one of the most famous sculptures in existence in the world today.
