When people think of wolves they think of their lethal hunting skills, howling and the pack. The art of howling is their source of communication. The creation of a wolf family is unique for animals. Wolves are social predators that live in nuclear families consisting of a mated pair, offspring and occasionally adopted subordinates. They are a loyal bunch, protecting and providing for one another. This sculpture depicts the pack leader calling out for his pack to assemble. He stands tall and raises his head to the full moon. He releases a high pitched howl. His fur is rugged. The detailing of this sculpture allows you to feel the texture of his coat.
