This is a beautifully sculpted statue of a topless woman dancing. She wears a long skirt that is tied at her waist, creating a beautiful cascade of creases. Her body is slender yet shapely and she embodies innocent beauty. She is standing on a stage performing her piece to the crowd. The young lady dances with her left arm extended to her side some what up, while the other one is bent at the elbow joint and its held real close to her body as she honors her country`s music. Her hair is tied up in a pony tale and wavy, some hanging over the front of her face. Her face is distinguished and calm as she tilts her head slightly up and to the left. She has exquisite details in her facial features giving her a more lifelike feel enabling you to peer into her eyes and become one with the sculpture. This sculpture has a brown and resin patina, head & arms are made from Resin it is mounted on a marble base and is handmade and is signed Preiss. The Art of Lost Wax

A very good fake

I've owned a turn-of-the-century chrysoelephantine (ivory and bronze) figure for a long time and regularly admired its exquisite workmanship. The body and face of this figure is very nicely done and compares well with the original pieces. The 'ivory' or 'bone' is toned to represent aging and comes across credibly. Overall, I like this piece very much.
