This exquisite bronze bust captures the essence of a Native American warrior chief with a gaze that is both wild and bold, exuding an air of spiritual resilience. The intricate detailing reveals the chief's adorned hair, braided and wrapped with strips of deer hide coated in a turquoise patina. A long feather gracefully extends from the back of his hair, also finished in a turquoise patina, adding an element of height and movement. The chief wears a bone breastplate, a significant chest ornament and armor that denoted the warrior's wealth. The number of hair-pipe bones in the plate was a symbol of the warrior's affluence, even though these decorative items were easily penetrated in battle by arrows or bullets. Molded using the archaic method of lost-wax casting, this sculpture achieves a level of detail that brings the warrior chief to life. The skin tones are finished in a brown patina stain, contributing to the overall lifelike appearance and providing a sense of permanence. The bust is skillfully mounted upon a black marble base, creating a visually striking and stable presentation. The signature of C.M.
